Our new mission

Pacifique is setting sail once again for an expedition spanning from 2026 to 2030. Starting in May 2026, from Portugal, the vessel Fleur de Passion will embark on an incredible journey around the world to assess an ecosystem in great peril: mangroves.

This voyage will take us on a collective adventure in search of our roots, both environmental and human. The boat becomes not only a means of navigation, but also a space to undertake the most profound journey: becoming oneself.

Specifically, this unique mission is based on three complementary objectives:

  • Scientific: Through collaboration with the F.-A. Forel Department (UNIGE), researchers will assess the health of mangroves and their ecosystems.

  • Social: The “Youth at Sea” program will welcome vulnerable young people experiencing social or educational disruption. A study on the development of their skills and resilience will be conducted in parallel by research teams (Educational Sciences, Psychology, Affective Sciences) from UNIGE and the University of Toulouse Jean-Jaurès.

  • Artistic: Artists in residence on board will help ensure this expedition remains in people’s memories.

All of this, under the invisible yet constant presence of Corto Maltese, Hugo Pratt’s famous sailor, who holds the compass.

A spring of encounters

In March 2026, Pacifique will reach out to the public to share its objectives and mission:

  • March 18: Workshop dedicated to the “Youth at Sea” program at the Book Fair.

  • March 31: Stop at the University of Geneva to present “Arctic Horizons,” a film about our previous Arctic expedition, followed by a debate on polar geopolitics.

  • April: Major photographic and artistic exhibition on Quai Wilson, Geneva.

  • Early May: Grand departure in Portimão (Portugal) with the launching of the boat.

Come meet the protagonists of this magnificent story at this press breakfast!
