A lot has happened on the Mauritius since the Canaries.
After the arrival of two new young people, Sariem and Esteban, and a change in the sailors’ team at the end of October, a few days mooring were in order. As usual, periods of coastal sailing are always an opportunity to combine sailing with boat maintenance. The wheelhouse and bulwark were completely repainted by our four young people on board, and Mauritius regained its deep blue color (without rust stains!).
On November 16, once the preparation of the boat was complete, the crew set off to cover the 750 nautical miles that separate the two archipelagos. A first on the high seas for Esteban and Sariem, a confirmation for Issaga and Rodrigo, already accustomed to longer sailings with the Portimao-Canaries route.
At last count, the whole crew will soon be arriving in Cape Verde after just under a week’s sailing.
