While this Wednesday, September 22, marks the beginning of autumn, the Mauritius is already experiencing the first snowfalls in Greenland.
This second year of expedition is slowly coming to an end, and it is after more than 2000 miles of sailing along the magnificent and wild west coast of Greenland, that the sailboat has found its place in the small port of Qeqertarsuaq on the island of Disko. The crew on board is preparing the sailboat for its first wintering season in the far north, and this is the first year we expect the sailboat to be stuck in the ice.
However, the winter period does not mean that polar activities will be stopped, as the whole Pacific team, in Switzerland as well as in Greenland, is working hard to offer you a program rich in exchanges with the local community of Qeqertarsuaq.
