The emotion was palpable when the “special mention” of the Éric Tabarly 2020 prize for best sea book was awarded to the book Dans le miroir de Magellan, le rétrécissement du monde (In the Mirror of Magellan, the Shrinking of the World) on Tuesday, September 29 in Paris. Awarded by the Naval Academy Alumni Association, the distinction was the subject of an official ceremony in one of the salons of the Military Academy in the presence of representatives of the Pacific Foundation, the publisher Ivan Slatkine and the Cultural Counsellor of the Swiss Embassy in France, Catherine Scharf.

The ceremony was held in a committee that was admittedly small due to the health measures in force, but was accompanied by words of praise for the colorful account of these four and a half years around the world illustrated by the work of the twenty artists who took part in the adventure.
