“Quickly arrived, already gone. We leave the port of Stavanger where we made a short stopover under a grey sky. Despite the shortness of our stopover, the first one since we left Douarnenez on June 8th, Norway already inspires us: people are welcoming and the landscapes are very picturesque.
We are now heading for the Lofoten Islands for a five to six day journey. After sailing tjrough the English Channel and crossing the rather calm North Sea, the Norwegian Sea offers us a navigation baptism of another nature with a persistent swell and waves of nearly two meters.

It’s hard to maintain balance on the deck and sleep seems to be the best remedy for most of us. The rolling of the water against the hull, the creaking of the mast and the slamming of the ropes rock us in our Nordic sleep. We finally begin to accustom ourselves to life at sea.”
