The spellbinding ballet of the northern lights continues on the sailing ship Mauritius, wintering in Greenland.
The atmospheric luminous phenomenon – due to the interaction between the charged particles of the solar wind and the various atoms and molecules of the atmosphere – has been accompanying the crew, who have been plunged into the polar night since 30 November.
From tomorrow onwards, the sun should gradually return and the days get longer.
