Day 1 – Despite the drizzle…
The first day of the Fêtes Maritimes de Brest was well attended.
Whether aboard the stand or on Fleur de Passion, the public was able to discover the programs run by Pacifique. Here’s a look at the activities on offer throughout the week.
Day 2 – And after the rain…. the sun!
A glorious day for this second day of festivities.
Spotlight on the Sailowtech association, sharing the Fleur deck and stand with the Pacifique team. They are presenting their next Arvor expedition, to be held aboard Mauritius from July 23. A great team of 3 students present the next lowtech scientific devices that will be tested during the summer.
Thanks to Philippine, Lorraine and Nils!
Day 3 – Under the best of auspices!
You couldn’t ask for a better weekend in Brittany at the Fêtes Maritimes de Brest: sunshine, on-board workshops… the public is there.
In the works for several months, we inaugurate the partnership between La cale aux épices and Pacifique. Because mealtimes are sacred on board, Christophe came to introduce us to the spices we use on our sailboats.
Because cooking is a way of opening up to the world, discovering others and new tastes.
Day 4 – The festivities continue
Despite a gloomy morning, it was a busy day.
At 9am, a team from France 3 Bretagne boarded the Mauritius for a trip out to sea. The subject: the “Jeunes en mer” program. After 4 hours of sailing, and a few squalls, the ship returned to Brest. It’s a tight turnaround, but the crew have the compass in their eye. The report is broadcast that evening, and we’ll be sharing it with you shortly.
On land, some brave men and women brave the bad weather to visit Fleur. “Dolphins don’t look real”, the phrase lends itself to a smile. It’s the title of the exhibition presented by our sailor Marion Fert. In photos and well-chosen quotations, she invites us to discover, not without a sense of humor, the socio-educational program run by the association.
Day 5 – Under the sign of encounter
A fine penultimate day at the Fêtes Maritimes de Brest. Thanks to the team of dancers from Tahiti for their visit to the boat. A moment of travel to the Pacific.
In the afternoon, artists Katharina Kreil, Matthieu Berthod and Ambroise Héritier led an engraving workshop in the carré de Fleur. It was a special moment of intimacy for our young people and the few people who had registered.
Day 6 – On the way to Douarnenez
Another busy day for all the teams. Bright sunshine, lots of visitors, and one visit after another, both on board and at the stand, to discover the multi-disciplinary activities carried out by Pacifique.
The last magical moment: the sculling final in front of the Mauritius. The whole team is on hand to cheer on the men and women who take part in this delicate marine exercise.
The very next day, the crews get ready for the big parade. Some 2,000 boats will cover the 30 nautical miles separating the two Breton towns.
See you in Douarnenez!
